About Nissi Creative Services

Hello, and thanks for stopping by! Since I hope we will be working together soon, I thought it might be good to introduce myself. My name is Mike Folsom. I founded Nissi Creative Services in 2005 based on a passion for design, creative marketing, and emerging Web technologies.

Although I am a designer and a developer by trade, my background is neither in art nor computer science, but rather in business: I received a bachelor’s degree (BA) in marketing from The Wichita State University (Go Shox!), and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!). I spent much of the early 2000s as a touring and session musician, and operated a small recording studio here in Nashville.

I have been fascinated with the Web since its inception, and built numerous personal sites before landing my first commercial project in 2001. In 2005, I was working as a marketing manager for a brick and mortar music retail store I had helped launch. My areas of responsibility included designing print ads, flyers, brochures, point of purchase displays, and overseeing the company website. But as my interest in web development began to deepen, I made the decision to “hang up my shingle”, and haven’t looked back. I love what I do!

I have always found that “working in my flame” means to be at the confluence of creativity and analytical thinking. I am obsessive about doing things the right way, and will work tirelessly to help achieve my clients’ goals.
